Revolution II Fall, 2-0, to Orlando City B

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (0-1-1, 1 pt.) fell to Orlando City B (1-1-0, 3 pts.), 2-0, at Gillette Stadium in USL League One action on Friday night. The match saw four first-team players feature in the starting lineup, with Homegrown Players Isaac Angking and Damian Rivera making their League One debuts.

“I actually thought the group did a good job of staying competitive and dictating the tempo of the game in the second half,” said Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay. “We pushed a little harder than maybe you would if it was a senior team game but I think it showed that the guys still had enough left in the tank and maybe some ideas to move the ball against a decent Orlando group.”

New England played most of the match with 10 men after defender Ryo Shimazaki was issued a pair of first-half yellow cards, exiting the match in the 38th minute. Despite being shorthanded, Revolution II had a number of chances offensively, generating 15 shots and three on target – one each from Rivera, Angking, and Orlando Sinclair. Wilfredo Rivera and Kenji Tanaka provided the goals for Orlando, both assisted by Moises Tablante.

New England hits the road for the first time next week, travelling to Arlington, Texas to face reigning USL League One Champion North Texas SC on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. ET. The match will stream live on ESPN+ in the United States and YouTube internationally.
