Academy Update: Ennin, Firmino lead Revs' U19s to victory over NYCFC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five New England Revolution Academy teams were back on the pitch this weekend with the each age group playing road matches at New York City FC. All five matches were played at St. John’s University’s Belson Stadium in Queens, N.Y. on Saturday, April 21.

The U-15s, U-14s, and U-13s will be back in action this weekend. All three teams are set to take on Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen at Ridgefield Sports Complex in Ridgefield Park, N.J. on Saturday, April 28.

WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Tim Ennin '00 (East Hartford, Conn.) and Nick Firmino '01 (Somerville, Mass.) got on the scoresheet, while goalkeeper Pat Quinn '00 (Manchester, N.H.) stopped a penalty to give the U-19s a 2-1 win over New York City FC.
  • Midfielder Jonathan Murphy '03 (Monson, Mass.) registered his third goal of the season in the U-15s’ 2-1 loss to New York City FC.
  • Midfielder Austin Bush '04 (Southampton, Mass.) assisted a pair of goals, scored by Christian Martins '04 (Framingham, Mass.) and Michael Hofstetter '04 (Providence, R.I.), in the U-14s 3-2 loss to New York City FC.
  • Forward Tyler Duarte '05 (Brockton, Mass.) made his Revolution Academy debut in the U-13s 3-0 loss to New York City FC.
  • Goalkeeper Eliot Jones '03 (New Britain, Conn.) is currently with the U.S. U-16 National Team on his fifth youth national team call-up for the Torneo delle Nazioni in Gradisca d’Isonzo, Italy.
