FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (September 11, 2026) – All five New England Revolution Academy teams kicked off their respective 2026-27 MLS NEXT seasons on Saturday, hosting Intercontinental Football Academy (IFA) of New England at the Revolution Training Center. The Under-13s highlighted the day's results with a dominant 6-1 victory over the regional club.
The Under-18s opened their season with a 3-1 setback to IFA. The visitors struck twice in the opening 10 minutes, but New England pulled one back in the 45th minute when Josh Macedo (2009 - Willowbrook, Ill.) set up Isaac Twumasi (2010 - Lawrenceville, Ga.), cutting the deficit to one just before halftime. However, the visitors added a third goal in the 66th minute to put the match out of reach for the Revolution.
In the Under-16s contest, the Revolution fell 3-0 to IFA, while the Under-15s dropped a 7-0 decision to IFA.
In other Academy action, the Under-14s battled to a 3-2 win over IFA on Saturday. The Revolution jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, as Bryson Villota (2013 - Glastonbury Center, Conn.) scored in the 12th and 30th minutes, but IFA responded with two tallies before halftime to level the match. However, New England came out of intermission strong, as Nichollas Texeira (2013 - Rockland, Mass.) netted the game-winning goal just over five minutes into the second half to seal a 3-2 victory for the Revolution.
The Under-13s posted a dominant 6-1 win over IFA. Teddy Berntorp (2014 - Newton, Mass.) opened the scoring just one minute into the contest to give the Revolution an early lead. The visitors pulled one back in the 21st minute, but New England responded with five first-half goals to put the match out of reach. Three different players recorded multiple goal contributions, with Artur Grzybacz (2014 - Cumberland, R.I.) bagging a brace, Mason Lima (2014 - East Providence, R.I.) tallying a goal and an assist, and Lucca Alden-Dunn (2014 - Dover, Mass.) registering two helpers.
The Revolution Academy returns to action this weekend, first hosting New York City FC on Saturday, Sept. 12, before taking on FC Greater Boston Bolts on Sunday, Sept. 13. All matches will be played at the Revolution Training Center. CLICK HERE to learn more about the New England Revolution Academy.
