Revolution II Sign Ben Awashie and Nakye Greenidge-Duncan

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II announced today that the club has signed midfielders Ben Awashie and Nakye Greenidge-Duncan to MLS NEXT Pro professional contracts ahead of the 2023 season.

Awashie, 24, signs from Grand Canyon University where he recorded 1,029 minutes played across 12 appearances in 2022. The Ghana native transferred to GCU from the University of Connecticut, notching three goals and five assists in 25 total appearances with the Huskies from 2019-2021. The midfielder was named to the American Conference All-Rookie Team after his freshman season in 2019.

Greenige-Duncan, 19, joins New England after beginning his professional career with Toronto FC II, recording three goals and one assist through 14 appearances in MLS NEXT Pro last season. The midfielder joined Toronto FC Academy in 2015 and signed his first contract in April 2021, making his professional debut in a USL League One match on Oct. 1, 2021 vs. North Carolina FC.
