TORONTO (September 20, 2026) – New England Revolution II (12-8-8, 48 pts.) clinched a spot in the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs with a 3-1 win over Toronto FC II (11-13-4, 39 pts.) at York Lions Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Revolution II opened the scoring just before halftime as forward/winger Myles Morgan netted his 14th goal of the season, setting a new club single-season scoring record. The home side responded two minutes later to level the match before the break, but midfielder Javaun Mussenden restored New England's lead with the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute. Homegrown defender Damario McIntosh then put the match out of reach with six minutes remaining in regulation to help New England secure a MLS NEXT Pro playoff appearance for just the third time in club history.
New England opened the match on the front foot, with Academy graduates Cristiano Oliveira and Makai Wells notching back-to-back chances in the 22nd and 24th minutes. Revolution II continued to press for the opener in the 34th minute when defender Jared Smith, making his 10th MLS NEXT Pro career start, curled a cross into the box to pick out Morgan. The Canadian native, facing his former club, rose above his defender and directed a header just wide of the right post.
On the ensuing play, the home side earned a breakaway opportunity and fired a shot on target, but Donovan Parisian reacted with a quick diving save to parry the effort away from the woodwork and keep the match level at 0-0.
The Revolution continued to apply offensive pressure and were rewarded with the opening goal with just two minutes remaining in the first half. Midfielder Logan Azar beat his defender off the dribble before slipping a pass to McIntosh on the right flank. The Homegrown defender then cut past his marker and delivered a cross from the end line to Morgan, who nodded home his team-leading 14th goal of the season. However, Toronto pulled level two minutes later when Luca Costabile buried a shot into the upper right corner of the net, sending the teams into halftime tied at 1-1.
New England regained the lead after halftime as Mussenden found the back of the net in the 62nd minute. Following a corner kick sent in by Oliveira, the home side attempted to clear the ball, but Mussenden collected the rebound just outside the 18-yard box. The 19-year-old showed no hesitation, rifling a shot from outside the penalty area that deflected off a Toronto defender and tucked inside the left post. The tally marked Mussenden's second goal of the season and his sixth goal contribution of the campaign.
Revolution II put the game out of reach in the 84th minute, as McIntosh scored his second goal of the season to cap off the first goal-and-assist performance of his MLS NEXT Pro career. Oliveira sparked the play, linking up with Wells in midfield. The 17-year-old then drove forward before slipping a perfectly weighted pass to McIntosh, who was open on the right side of the penalty area. The Homegrown defender took a touch and buried a shot inside the near post, helping seal New England's place in postseason play.
Revolution II will return to action later in October for their first MLS NEXT Pro playoff match. With today's win, New England clinched fifth place in the Eastern Conference, with its playoff opponent and match schedule to be announced.

- F/W Myles Morgan tallied his 14th goal of the season today, surpassing former Revolution II F Liam Butts for the most goals scored in a single campaign in club history. At the conclusion of the match, Morgan is tied for the fourth-most goals in the league.
- D Damario McIntosh recorded a goal-and-assist performance, the first of his MLS NEXT Pro career. The Homegrown defender turned in a 90-minute performance, notching two key passes.
- M Javaun Mussenden scored his second goal of the season, his second game-winning tally of the campaign. The 2024-25 Academy Player of the Year made his 22nd appearance of the season, including his 21st start, and registered two key passes.
- M Logan Azar notched his third assist of the season this afternoon. The 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star played his 11th 90-minute shift of the season today and completed over 90 percent of his passes.
- M Makai Wells and M Cristiano Oliveira also collected assists in today's contest. Wells earned his second helper of the season, while Oliveira collected his ninth, a team-leading mark.
- GK Donovan Parisian made his second consecutive start in goal this afternoon, his 13th of the 2026 campaign. The 2025 MLS first-round SuperDraft selection made two saves to help New England secure the win.
