POSTGAME NOTES: Revolution II Fall to Philadelphia Union II, 3-1

HOOKSETT, N.H. (May 19, 2024) – New England Revolution II (3-5-1; 11 pts.) fell to Philadelphia Union II (5-1-3; 20 pts.), 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at Ouellette Stadium. Marcos Dias tallied his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the match while goalkeeper JD Gunn made four saves in his fifth consecutive start.

Sunday’s match remained scoreless through the opening 45 minutes. Union II would find the opener in the 47th minute with a goal from Chris Donovan. New England found the equalizer in the 63rd minute with Dias’ team-leading fourth goal of the season. After a rebound from Alex Monis bounced in the box, Dias sailed a right-footed shot to the top right corner to mark his 19th career tally with New England’s second team. Monis recorded his third assist of the year on the play. Philadelphia found the scoresheet twice more in the 76th and 81st minutes to close out the match.

Six Revolution Academy players featured in Sunday’s game with Eric Klein, Damario McIntosh, and Malcolm Fry earning starts while Steban Lopera, Gevork Diarbian, and Alex Parvu made substitute appearances in the second half. Defender Moshtaba Al-Hasnawi also marked his first professional start, logging 59 minutes in the match.
