New England Revolution Academy Highlights: November 10, 2021

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued its 2021 MLS NEXT Fall season with the Under-17s and Under-15s hosting matches against the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC academy teams over the weekend. Meanwhile, the U-14s hosted first-year outfit Intercontinental Football Academy and NYCFC Academy in matches at Maycomber Stadium in Central Falls, R.I.

The U-17s drew on both days, 3-3 with New York Red Bulls and 1-1 with NYCFC. The U-15s fell 4-0 to the Red Bulls on Saturday before playing to a 2-2 draw on Sunday with NYCFC. The U-14s remained unbeaten, defeating Intercontinental FA, 2-1, and drawing 1-1 with NYCFC.

Last week, Noel Buck was named the UnitedHealthcare Revolution Academy Player of the Year for the 2020-21 MLS NEXT season. The current New England Revolution II midfielder and 2021 Revolution Academy graduate becomes the seventh different recipient of the honor.

All four Academy teams hit the road next weekend for matchups at New York Soccer Club on Saturday before wrapping up the weekend with fixtures at Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen on Sunday. Revolution MLS NEXT & Alumni Highlights

  • Defender Jack Burkhardt (2005 – Sutton, Mass.) and midfielder Marco Dos Santos (2005 – Methuen, Mass.) each recorded their first assists of the season for the U-17s over the weekend.
  • Midfielder Esmir Bajraktarevic (2005 – Appleton, Wis.) and defender Alex Parvu (2005 – Cumberland, R.I.) each tallied their first goal of the season for the U-17s. For Bajraktarevic, his tally on Saturday marked his third goal in as many games for the Academy this season between the U-19 and U-17 levels.
  • Forwards Tito Nichols (200 7 – Milton, Mass.) and Everson Goglia (2007 – Bristol, R.I.) each tallied a goal for the U-15s in a draw on Sunday with New York City FC.
  • Forward Cristiano Carlos (2008 – Chicopee, Mass.) and midfielder Bryan Norena (2008 – Revere, Mass.) each recorded a goal and an assist as the U-14s stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games to begin the fall season. Carlos leads the entire Revolution Academy program with 12 goals on the year.
  • Midfielder Aiden Farwell (2002 – Randolph, Mass.) earned a spot on the ACC All-Freshmen Team after scoring one goal and three assists over 15 games for Boston College.
