Academy Highlights | Youth teams continue strong start to spring season with 5-1-0 weekend

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued their MLS NEXT spring season this weekend as the U-19s faced Cedar Stars Academy and the U-14s faced Bayside FC. The U-15s and U-17s both traveled to face Atlanta United FC and Charlotte FC.

The U-19s won their game by a score of 3-2 with goals coming from Triton Beauvois, Andrew Millar, and Jack Panayotou. The U-17s dominated their weekend, shutting out both Atlanta United FC 2-0 and Charlotte FC 4-0. Goalkeepers Max Weinstein and Kevin Christensen both contributed to two straight clean sheets for their team.

The U-15s battled back against Atlanta United FC, scoring three consecutive goals after going down by 2. They fell in their second game of the weekend vs. Charlotte FC by a score of 3-2. The U-14s traveled to East Providence, R.I. to face Bayside FC where they brought home a 4-0 victory.

Revolution Academy teams are all back at it next weekend as the U-19s travel to New York to face FC Westchester on Saturday. The U-17s and U-15s stay home to face D.C. United while the U-14s take on NEFC with all three matches taking place at Gillette Stadium.

Revolution MLS NEXT & Alumni Highlights

  • U-17 goalkeeper Ryan Carney (2006 – Dunstable, Mass.) was called up to the U-17 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team where he travelled to Argentina and started in the 2-1 win vs. Uruguay on March 18.
  • U-19 forward Triton Beauvois (2003 – Malden, Mass.) opened the scoring for the U-19s, tallying his eighth of the season.
  • U-17 forward Malcolm Fry (2005 – Groton, Mass.) scored two goals over the weekend, bringing him to three in his seven games played this season.
  • U- 15 forward Raphael Alves (2007- Boston, Mass.) scored the tying goal and game-winner vs. Atlanta United on Saturday.
  • U-14 forward Luke Hislop (2007 – Concord, Mass.) and midfielder Camilo Moreno Bustamente (2008 – Peabody, Mass.) each scored twice to lead their team to a 4-0 win over Bayside FC.
