FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution visit Nashville SC this afternoon for a 1:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium. The match airs locally on WSBK-TV38 and myRITV, as well as on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2 and WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA. The match is also available on ESPN+ for out-of-market viewers.


Here is a breakdown of the today’s starting lineup as New England kicks off a stretch of three games in nine days:

Lineup Notes:

  • Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena’s Starting XI features one change from last Saturday’s match, with Gustavo Bou returning to the lineup and Brandon Bye shifting to the bench. Tajon Buchanan will slot in at right back after featuring in the midfield last week.
  • The defensive backline of DeJuan JonesTajon BuchananAndrew Farrell, and Henry Kesslerappears together for the first time this season. New England’s defense is currently riding a streak of 259 minutes without conceding a goal from open play, dating back to the 11th minute of the season opener at Chicago Fire FC on April 17.
  • Carles Gil, who earned MLS Team of the Week honors for his goal-and-assist performance in last Saturday’s win over Atlanta United, has factored into three of New England’s five goals this season. The Revs are 7-1-4 across all competitions when the Spaniard scores a goal.
  • Maciel and Matt Polster start together in central midfield for the second consecutive match. Maciel became the first Revolution II graduate to start a first-team match last weekend, when the 21-year-old Brazilian completed all 33 of his pass attempts over a 90-minute performance. After making his 100th MLS appearance last week, Polster (7,450) enters today’s match 51 minutes shy of eclipsing 7,500 minutes played in MLS.
  • Adam Buksa registers his 20th start in MLS today. The 24-year-old Polish striker leads the Revs in shots (9) and shots on goal (4). He has also shown his prowess in the air, ranking among the MLS leaders in aerial duels won (2nd - 17) and headed shots (T-2nd - 4).
  • Arnór Traustason logs his third consecutive start in New England’s attack and his first appearance on the road in MLS.
  • Gustavo Bou owns one goal on the season and will make his 35th appearance and 30th start in MLS today. The Argentinian striker missed last Saturday’s match with an injury.
  • Tajon Buchanan returns to the right back role where he featured throughout the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. He was one of two Revolution players, alongside Buksa, to appear in every regular season contest since 2020. The Canadian owns one assist and four shots over 141 minutes this season.
  • Andrew Farrell will match Jay Heaps (243) for the fifth-most games played in Revolution history. The ninth-year veteran defender leads all MLS outfield players in regular season minutes (21, 312) and starts (239) since entering league as the first-overall SuperDraft pick in 2013.
  • Matt Turner enters today’s match just three saves shy of reaching 250 for his MLS career. Turner ranks third in Revolution annals in games started in goal (72), wins (26), shutouts (17) and saves (247).

Bench Notes:

  • Wilfrid Kaptoum is available off the bench for the second straight match. Kaptoum played 72 minutes over the club’s first two games of the season, including a 64-minute start in the home opener on April 24 against D.C. United. 
  • Brandon Bye will make his 80th appearance in MLS if he appears in today’s contest. Bye scored the opening goal in last Saturday’s win and delivered the cross that caused an own goal in the 1-0 triumph over D.C. United on April 24 in New England’s home opener.
  • Teal Bunbury (42 goals, 16 game-winning goals) is one goal away from surpassing Steve Ralston for fourth-most in club history, and one game-winning goal shy of leaping Diego Fagundez for third on the team’s all-time list. The 12th-year forward has appeared in two games this season.
  • Tommy McNamara has appeared in all three matches this season, including one start. Since joining the Revolution via trade with the Houston Dynamo on Aug. 17, 2020, McNamara has appeared in 17 contests, 12 of them starts, and played 990 minutes. 
  • Edward Kizza is available off the bench for the fourth consecutive match. The first-year forward, selected with the team’s first-round pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, played seven minutes as a substitute and logged one shot in his MLS debut on April 17 at Chicago Fire FC.
