FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II have signed midfielder Tiago Mendonca to the team’s inaugural USL League One roster pending league and federation approval. A native of Faro, Portugal, Mendonca becomes the 10th player signed to the Revolution II roster.


Mendonca, 24, begins his professional career with Revolution II following his redshirt senior season at Providence College, in which he tallied four goals with four assists while starting all 23 matches. For his college career, he totaled 69 appearances, 58 starts, 11 goals, and four assists across 2,069 minutes of action. The six-foot midfielder started all 42 matches for the Friars over his final two seasons, earning back-to-back All-BIG EAST First Team selections in 2018 and 2019. He added BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors as a redshirt senior. Mendonca, who developed at Faro-based S.C. Farense for 10 years prior to Providence College, received a spot on the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team after making 14 starts in 2015.


With the addition of Mendonca, the Revolution II roster now stands at 10 players, including Revolution Academy forward Meny Silva and Academy graduate Nick Woodruff. Midfielder Mayele Malango, forward Connor Presley, defender Collin Verfurth, and Woodruff became the first Revolution II players signed to the team on Jan. 7, with midfielder Lucas "Maciel" Felix, defender Ryo Shimazaki, forward Orlando Sinclair, and midfielder Ryan Spaulding signing on Jan. 16.


Revolution II’s inaugural 28-game regular season begins on Saturday, March 28 with a home match against Orlando City B.
