FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II has signed forward Meny Silva to the team’s USL League One roster ahead of its inaugural 2020 season. A native of Roxbury, Mass., Silva becomes the first active Revolution Academy player signed by Revolution II and will join the roster pending league and federation approval.


Silva, 17, scored six goals across 20 combined appearances with the Revolution Academy's Under-17 and Under-19 sides after joining the program during the 2017-18 USSDA season. Through the first half of the 2019-20 season, he posted three goals in nine appearances for the Under-19s. The 5-foot-8 forward became an inaugural member of the Revolution's Residency Program ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, and also trained with the Revolution's first team in 2019.


With the addition of Silva, Revolution II's roster now consists of nine players, including Revolution Academy graduate Nick Woodruff. Midfielder Mayele Malango, forward Connor Presley, defender Collin Verfurth, and Woodruff became the first Revolution II players signed to the team on Jan. 7, with midfielder Lucas "Maciel" Felix, defender Ryo Shimazaki, forward Orlando Sinclair, and midfielder Ryan Spaulding signing on Jan. 16.


Revolution II’s inaugural 28-game regular season begins on Saturday, March 28 with a home match against Orlando City B.
