FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (7-3-1-; 23 pts.; 2nd in East) will travel to MSU Soccer Park to take on New York Red Bulls II (5-3-1; 16 pts.; 5th in East) on Sunday night. The 7 p.m. match will stream live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Revolution II capped off the month of May with a fourth straight victory to move into second place in the Eastern Conference after defeating Inter Miami II 1-0 on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, marking the squad’s first four-game win streak since their inaugural 2020 season. Defender Pierre Cayet tallied the lone goal in the match, heading in a freekick from Jake Rozhansky to secure all three points for his team. Revolution goalkeeper Jacob Jackson made two saves en route to his first shutout of the season with the second team, earning New England their first pair of consecutive shutouts this year following the team’s 2-0 victory over Columbus Crew 2 on May 25.

“It’s super fun to be back. It’s been, I think, 11 months of rehab, so I think it’s just awesome to be back again. I went through a lot with the rehab, but luckily our training staff’s good, [Revolution Goalkeeper Coach Kevin Hitchcock] has been awesome, pushing me to get back to where I’m at,” Jackson said postgame. “Clint [Peay], everyone in the organization, I’ve been very grateful for them having me come in, work with the second team and just get reps again, because it is still challenging. The speed of everything from the second team to the first team, but I’m just happy to be making improvements every day.”

Revolution II’s scoring continues to be one of the best in MLS Next Pro. With nine different goal scorers so far, New England’s 27 tallies tie them for first in the league alongside Colorado Rapids 2. The team’s 17 assists also put them third in the MLS Next Pro standings with Homegrown midfielder Damian Rivera and Rozhanksy leading Revolution II with three helpers each. Forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith remains in the league’s top 10 for shots on target (12) and his four goals this season put him just one off the team’s top scorers.

Sunday’s match marks the second meeting between New England and New York. The two sides last faced off on April 21 with Red Bulls II earning a 1-0 victory at Gillette Stadium. Cayet was issued yellow cards in the 21st and 92nd minutes of that meeting and per MLS NEXT Pro rules, will be suspended for this Sunday’s match. New England holds a 4-1-1 record since that April 21 meeting and will look to improve upon their 3-2-0 road record so far this season.
