CURRENT FORM
New England Revolution
11th in Eastern Conference (8-15-8, 32 pts.)
Last Result | 1-0 loss at Philadelphia Union
The Revolution put up a tough fight in their last outing against Supporters’ Shield leaders Philadelphia Union. New England were strong defensively, shutting out the high-scoring Philadelphia side until the 71st minute, when the Revs conceded what would be the lone goal in a 1-0 loss.
While New England had a good defensive showing against the league’s top team, they struggled to produce much on the attack, putting a single shot on target out of nine attempts at goal. The result officially eliminated the Revolution from playoff contention, but has left them empowered to close the season strong. New England will look to change the narrative around this season’s home performances and find three points over Atlanta at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.
Atlanta United FC
13th in Eastern Conference (5-13-12, 27 pts.)
Last Result | 1-1 draw vs. San Diego FC
Atlanta United have also been eliminated from playoff contention, having racked up only five wins this season. Of those wins, Atlanta have found just a single three-point result on the road. As they head to Gillette Stadium this weekend, they’ll feel a bit of momentum after drawing 1-1 against Western Conference Leaders, San Diego FC.
Last time out, Atlanta showed a lot of attacking promise, firing off 17 shots to San Diego’s seven. Miguel Almiron’s successful penalty kick solidified him as Atlanta’s second-highest scoring player in club history. Conversely, Atlanta have struggled defensively this season. With 55 goals against, Atlanta sports one of the league’s worst defensive records in 2025.
KEY PLAYERS
Revolution forward Dor Turgeman
Turgeman arrived at the Revolution training ground early this week and has immediately started building chemistry with his new teammates. The forward is expected to make his first appearance for the Revolution in front of the home crowd this weekend, and while he may not play a full 90 minutes, the new energy could make a big impact for New England.
The Israeli international joins the Revolution from Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he logged 32 goals and 10 assists across his 114 appearances with the club. As the Revolution search for more goal-scoring chances, Turgeman could be just the striker for the job.
Atlanta forward Emmanuel Latte Lath
After being sidelined with an injury for most of August and September, Latte Lath returned to play in Atlanta’s last match against San Diego. While Latte Lath only saw 14 minutes on the pitch last weekend, he could be expected to take on more minutes at Gillette Stadium and may be eager to make a difference for Atlanta.
Latte Lath remains Atlanta United’s highest-scoring player this season with seven goals and one assist. His 10.2 xG this year highlights his ability to threaten defending teams, as he puts himself in dangerous spots on the attack.
HEAR FROM THE TEAM
Interim head coach Pablo Moreira on how the team is preparing to host Atlanta United FC on Saturday:
“I don’t like to look at where teams are in the standings. As I’ve said over and over, MLS is such a league or parity, that you can’t just look at where they’re at in the standings. At the end of the day, [Atlanta] has a very talented roster, a high budget. And if you look at the last four halves that they’ve played, other than the first half in Columbus, they played Columbus very well [5-4 loss on Sept. 13], scored four goals on them in the second half. Then obviously, San Diego FC is up there in terms of how good their season’s going, and [Atlanta] gave them a tough test too [1-1 draw on Sept. 20].
“So, it’s one of those where we don’t look at where they’re at in the standings. They’ve had a great three halves, basically, [where] they’ve had a really good performance. But with that said, the Columbus game, there’s something to look at there. Then in past games that we’ve played against them, there’s something to look at there. So, we’ll definitely try to exploit those things that we see. They’re a very good team that we’ll take into consideration when it comes to our prep.”
Moreira on Leo Campana’s injury status and if he will appear in this weekend’s contest:
“Leo [Campana] had a very, very good week of training. He was incorporated a little later in the training this week, just because like you said, he’s coming off an injury. But he showed well, so he will be a factor in this game.”
Midfielder Matt Polster on the team’s mindset and approach for the last three games of the season:
“I think the attitude should be to stay as positive as possible and finish these three games off as strong as possible. It’s not going to be easy. Obviously, we still have good opponents in front of us, and we have to take it seriously and be competitive. We still have a lot to fight for – our respect, our own pride, and showing the fans that we’re still committed to this club.”
