Following his game-winning debut performance for the Revolution this past Saturday night, Turgeman unlocked the Dor to a starting spot on this week’s MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi. With a goal and an assist within his first 20 minutes in a Revs jersey, the 21-year-old forward takes a well-deserved place on the week’s best XI.
Turgeman took the pitch in the 56th minute for New England, wasting no time as he opened the scoring against Atlanta United only 16 minutes later. As if netting a goal in his MLS debut wasn’t impressive enough, the Israeli international soon doubled his impact after carrying the ball box-to-box to tee up Leo Campana’s seventh goal of the season.
“With Dor, like I said during the week, he’s a great player. He understands everything tactically, he has a great touch. He scores goals, you saw it tonight. I’m happy for him, playing his first match at home and scoring,” interim head coach Pablo Moreira said following New England’s victory.
The home win gave fans in Foxborough a reason to celebrate after the Revs had found just three home wins this season prior to Saturday’s result.
“I don’t know how to put it into words, but it’s everything. It’s what our guys wanted, it’s what we wanted, it’s what we’ve been trying to do. We found the right formula tonight, and we’re very happy with that,” explained Moreira. “At the end of the day, we’ve been talking about it all week. We just wanted everyone, [25,790 fans], to leave here happy and that’s what we did.”
Although the Revolution have already been eliminated from this year’s playoff action, the win felt like the boost they needed to help end the season on a high. With only two fixtures remaining on the 2025 schedule, New England now prepares to head down to South Florida to take on Inter Miami CF before one final hoorah at Gillette Stadium before the offseason.
With the naming of a new head coach on the horizon and an exciting new piece of the attack in Turgeman, hope is blooming in New England.
