The tournament qualifies its champion directly to the FIFA Club World Cup.
The following four MLS clubs remain actively competing in the 2022 edition:
New England Revolution – Supporters’ Shield winner
New York City FC – MLS Cup champions

REVOLUTION HISTORY VS. PUMAS
The New England Revolution and Pumas will square off two times in an eight-day span in different countries as part of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champion League’s Quarterfinals (SCCL), with their first leg in Foxborough, Mass., at Gillette Stadium and the second in Mexico City at Estadio Olimpico Universitario.
This will be the second-ever meeting between these two sides, though this is the Revs’ first meeting with a Mexican side in SCCL action. New England and Pumas met on one prior occasion during the 2010 SuperLiga group stage at Gillette Stadium, where the Revs claimed a 1-0 victory over Pumas. With regards to facing Liga MX sides historically, New England holds a 7-1-1 record in nine all-time meetings against these competitors.
New England progressed to the SCCL Quarterfinals after the club’s Round of 16 opponent, Haitian side Cavaly AS, withdrew from the tournament due to issues obtaining the necessary visas to travel. Pumas advanced to the Quarterfinals following a 6-3 aggregate victory over Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa.
This marks the Revolution’s first time participating in an international club competition since the 2010 North American SuperLiga and its first appearance in the Concacaf Champions League since 2008. The Revolution won a continental title by lifting the SuperLiga trophy in 2008.
Head coach Bruce Arena has previously coached two teams to a Concacaf continental tournament, with both D.C. United and the LA Galaxy. Most notably, Arena won the Concacaf Champions' Cup in 1998 with D.C. United.
Overall Record vs. Pumas: 1-0-0
Home Record vs. Pumas: 1-0-0
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Pumas 0 (July 14, 2010)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty,” on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium. The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.
The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty.” This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.
You can purchase “The Liberty” HERE.
