RECENT FORM VS. HOUSTON DYNAMO FC

There's a long and storied history between the Revs and Dynamo, sides that once met in cup finals for three straight years: MLS Cup 2006, MLS Cup 2007, and North American SuperLiga 2008. But meetings between these teams have been scarce in recent seasons, and the Dynamo's 3-1 win over the Revs last September at PNC Stadium was the first in this series in more than three years. It's been even longer since the sides met in Foxborough, as Saturday night's clash will be the first between New England and Houston at Gillette Stadium since June 2019.

The hosts will be looking to continue their strong start, having kicked off the 2023 campaign with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Charlotte FC last weekend at Bank of America Stadium, silencing 69,345 fans with Henry Kessler's 89th-minute winner. It was the Revolution's first season-opening victory since 2013, and after they were the only Eastern Conference team to win on the road during opening weekend, they'll now return to Foxborough, where they're 9-1-6 in home openers dating back to 2007.

While the Revs will be searching for a second straight victory to begin the year, Houston have their sights set on a first point after dropping their opener, 2-1, on the road at FC Cincinnati. The Dynamo are under new leadership in 2023, longtime D.C. United player and head coach Ben Olsen taking over as the new head coach in Houston, where he'll aim to lead the Texas side back to the postseason after finishing just one point off the foot of the Western Conference in 2022.

By kickoff on Saturday night it will have been 155 days since the Revs performed in front of their home fans, and they'll be eager to give the Foxborough faithful something to cheer about.
