2017 Regular Season Schedule Unveiled

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Major League Soccer today unveiled the complete schedule for the 2017 MLS regular season. The 22nd season of MLS will open on Friday, March 3 and end on Sunday, Oct. 22, with each club playing a total of 34 matches. New England’s complete 2017 regular season schedule can be found on revolutionsoccer.net, while the entire MLS schedule can be found at MLSsoccer.com.


The Revolution will open the 2017 season by travelling west to take on the Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on March 4. The club will play its home opener one week later, hosting Orlando City SC at Gillette Stadium on March 11.


New England will play a total of 23 games against Eastern Conference opposition. The Revs are set to play each Eastern Conference opponent at least twice, and will play the Chicago Fire, New York City FC, and Toronto FC a total of three teams each. The Revs will face each of the 11 clubs in the Western Conference once, including a road contest with the defending MLS Cup Champions, Seattle Sounders FC, set for Saturday, April 29.


The Revolution are set to play expansion sides Atlanta United FC and Minnesota United FC for the first time in club history. Minnesota United FC will travel to Gillette Stadium for the lone regular season meeting between the two clubs on Saturday, March 25. Furthermore, New England will travel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to play Atlanta United FC on Wednesday, Sept. 13 and will host the new Eastern Conference opponent on Saturday, Sept. 30.


Of New England’s 17 home matches this season, 13 matches will be played on Saturday, two matches will be held on Wednesday, and two matches will square off on Sunday. In addition, 12 matches will be evening contests, while the remaining five matches will be afternoon tilts.


CSN New England will once again serve as the Revolution’s local broadcast partner and will carry up to 32 regular-season games, beginning with the season opener against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, March 4. The 2017 campaign will mark the eighth consecutive season that CSN will be the television home of the club and the fourth straight year that Brad Feldman and Paul Mariner will team up to call the action from the booth.


In addition to the games aired on CSN, two Revolution games will be shown nationally, with the club set to play the Portland Timbers at Providence Park on Sunday, April 2 on ESPN2 and the Philadelphia Union at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday, July 2 on FS1.


CSN New England’s coverage of the 2017 Revolution season will begin with the annual “State of the Revs Season Preview” special at 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 2. “State of the Revs”, the network’s bi-weekly season-long recap and feature program will return on Thursday, March 9 and run throughout the season.
