New England Revolution Lineup Notes | October 14 at Montreal Impact

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (6-4-7, 25 pts.) are set to visit the Montreal Impact (6-9-2, 20 pts.) tonight at Red Bull Arena for the fourth and final regular season meeting between the two Eastern Conference sides. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and airs locally on NBC Sports Boston, as well as on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA. Here is a closer look at New England’s lineup for Wednesday’s contest:

  • New England’s lineup features a season-high eight changes from its most recent Starting XI on Oct. 11 at New York City FC with Michael Mancienne, Antonio Delamea, Alexander Büttner, Kelyn Rowe, Matt Polster, Diego Fagundez, Kekuta Manneh and Adam Buksa starting in place of Henry Kessler, Andrew Farrell, Brandon Bye, Tommy McNamara, Scott Caldwell, Tajon Buchanan, Lee Nguyen and Cristian Penilla.
  • Teal Bunbury, making his 15th start of the 2020 campaign, wears the captain’s armband tonight. Bunbury, now two starts away from reaching 200 for his MLS career, is tied with Gustavo Bou for the team lead in goals (5).
  • Adam Buksa makes his 12th start of the season. Buksa has appeared in all 17 games to date and ranks second on the team in shots (40) and shots on goal (14).
  • Michael Mancienne will make his first start and appearance since the third-year defender registered a 90-minute shift on Sept. 2. 
  • Antonio Delamea makes his fourth start of the season and his first since Sept. 6.
  • Alexander Büttner rejoins the Starting XI for the first time since Sept. 23, when the Revolution logged a 3-1 win over Montreal. Tonight’s start is Büttner’s 10th of the season and his first appearance since Oct. 7.
  • Kelyn Rowe will also make his first start since Sept. 23. Rowe needs one assist to reach 40 and claim sole possession of fourth-place among New England’s all-time assists leaders, and his next goal will be his 30th in MLS.
  • Matt Polster will register his 10th appearance since joining the Revolution and his first start since Sept. 27. Polster recorded a 32-minute shift in Sunday’s 2-1 win at New York City FC.
  • Diego Fagundez makes his sixth straight appearance and seventh start of the season in tonight’s contest. Fagundez (258) is now three appearances shy of matching Shalrie Joseph (261) for the club’s all-time regular season games played record.
  • Kekuta Manneh will make his first start in a Revolution uniform and his first appearance with New England since Sept. 19.

  • Brandon Bye, the team leader in minutes played this season (1,451), entered tonight’s contest as the lone Revolution player to start all 17 matches this season. Bye ranks among MLS leaders in aerial won (2nd- 71) and duels won (4th- 119).
  • Henry Kessler has appeared in all 17 games this far in his rookie campaign. Kessler scored the first goal of his MLS career on Sept. 23 in a 3-1 win over the Impact. 
  • Gustavo Bou rejoins the match day roster after missing the last two games due to injury. Bou ranks first in MLS in shots (57) and third in shots on goal (21). 
  • Lee Nguyen is two appearances away from becoming the 10th player in club history to make 200 regular season appearances with New England. Nguyen’s next assist will be the 60th of his MLS career.
  • Tajon Buchanan has appeared in every match this season and registered a career-best six straight starts, including four 90-minute shifts, entering tonight’s match.
