FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (5-3-6, 21 pts.) are set to host Nashville SC tonight at Gillette Stadium for the first-ever meeting with the MLS expansion side. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m.  and airs locally on NBC Sports Boston, as well as on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA. Here is a closer look at New England’s lineup for Saturday’s contest:

Starting XI (4-2-3-1): GK Matt Turner; D DeJuan Jones, D Henry Kessler, D Andrew Farrell, D Brandon Bye; M Tommy McNamara, M Scott Caldwell, LM Tajon Buchanan, CAM Lee Nguyen, RM Teal Bunbury, F Gustavo Bou ©
Lineup Notes:

  • New England’s lineup features one change from its most recent match on Sept. 27 at D.C. United, with Tommy McNamara starting in place of Matt Polster.
  • The Revs are 2-0-1 over the last three games, all of which featured the same attacking quartet as tonight consisting of Gustavo Bou, Teal Bunbury, Lee Nguyen, and Tajon Buchanan.
  • New England’s four-man back line of DeJuan Jones, Henry Kessler, Andrew Farrell, and Brandon Bye is making its sixth start together this season. The Revs allowed three goals in the previous five games when this combo started together.
  • Matt Turner is searching for his sixth clean sheet of the season, which would set a new career high.
  • Gustavo Bou, wearing the captains’ armband for the 11th time this season, enters tonight’s contest on a two-game scoring streak. The team leader in goals (5), Bou ranks first in MLS in shots (53), tied for second in shots on goal (19), and his three game-winning goals are one behind the league lead.
  • Lee Nguyen earns his fourth consecutive start and fifth straight appearance since re-joining the club on Sept. 8. With one assist, Nguyen (51G/49A) will become the first player in Revolution history to register 50 goals and 50 assists.
  • Brandon Bye maintains his position as the lone Revolution player to start all 15 matches this season. Bye leads the team in minutes played (1,121) and ranks third in MLS in duels won (104).
  • Tajon Buchanan makes his career-high fourth consecutive start at right midfield tonight. The Canadian’s five starts this season are also a new personal best.
  • Henry Kessler makes his 15th appearance of the season and his 12th start, both of which lead all 2020 MLS SuperDraft selections. His 1,103 minutes played lead all MLS rookies.
  • Scott Caldwell earns his fourth consecutive start in the midfield, having registered 90-minute shifts in each of the last three matches.
  • Tommy McNamara returns to the Starting XI for the first time since Sept. 19. He owns two assists in six appearances (four starts) since joining the Revolution on Aug. 17.

Bench: GK Brad Knighton, D Antonio Delamea, D Michael Mancienne, D Seth Sinovic, M Diego Fagundez, M Kelyn Rowe, F Cristian Penilla, F Adam Buksa
Bench Notes:

  • If he appears in tonight’s game, Diego Fagundez will surpass Matt Reis (254) for sole possession of second place on the club’s all-time games played list.
  • Cristian Penilla leads the team in assists (4). He registered his second multi-assist game as a substitute in Sunday’s 2-0 win at D.C. United.
  • Adam Buksa has appeared in all 14 matches to date, including four as a substitute. The Polish striker tallied his third MLS goal, and first as a substitute, in the Sept. 27 win at D.C.
  • Seth Sinovic is available on the bench for the first time since Sept. 2 vs. New York City FC.
