Revolution II Game Preview | New England at Richmond Kickers

Revolution II | Orlando Sinclair

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (3-6-2, 11 pts.) will wrap up its four-game road trip on Saturday with a visit to second-place Richmond Kickers (6-2-2, 20 pts.) at City Stadium in Richmond, Va. The contest kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET and is available nationally on ESPN+.

Revolution II won its second straight game with a 1-0 win last Saturday on the road against Orlando City B. Forward Justin Rennicks scored the lone goal, his second of the season, with an assist by Orlando Sinclair. It was the first time the team has registered consecutive victories in its inaugural season, and the clean sheet extended New England’s shutout streak to 262 minutes dating back to Sept. 16. Saturday’s match will be the second time Revolution II has faced Richmond, the first coming on Aug. 21 at Gillette Stadium and resulting in a 2-1 win for the visiting Kickers.

“The biggest thing we learned from the first meeting is that they're a team that doesn't need a lot of opportunities,” said Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay. “And when they get some, they're pretty deadly. So we have to be really good with limiting and eliminating all their opportunities and finding a way to be better in breaking them down as they're a very good team defensively."

Richmond is coming off a two-game week that featured a pair of victories – 2-1 over Fort Lauderdale CF at home on Sept. 23 and a 1-0 win on the road at Union Omaha last Saturday night. Kickers forward Emiliano Terzaghi added to his league-leading nine goals with a brace against Fort Lauderdale. Midfielder Ryley Kraft provided assists on both game-winning goals, bringing his team-leading tally in game-winning assists to three including one he registered at New England. The Kickers are 4-0-0 at home this season and have outscored its visitors 7-3.
