RECENT FORM VS. RED BULLS

This will be the 75th regular-season meeting - and 87th meeting in all competitions - between the New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls, whose rivalry goes all the way back 25 years to MLS' inaugural 1996 season.

In regular-season play, home-field advantage has historically played a large role in recent years as the Revs have won five of the last six meetings in Foxborough, while the Red Bulls have been triumphant in nine of their 11 matchups at Red Bull Arena. However, New England went unbeaten against the Red Bulls in 2019, with a 1-0 win at Gillette Stadium and a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena in league play, as well as a 3-2 win in the Fourth Round of the U.S. Open Cup.

While recent regular-season history includes a mix of results for both sides, New England are unbeaten against the Red Bulls in their past five playoff meetings. This includes two wins and a draw at home, as well as an important victory at Red Bull Arena in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Championship in 2014, on New England's way to a 4-3 aggregate victory and trip to MLS Cup.

The Red Bulls are coming to Foxborough following a 1-0 loss at the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday night, while the Revs are returning from Audi Field with a 2-1 win over D.C. United. As New England looks to extend their regular-season unbeaten run to seven games (2-0-4) on Saturday night, this will be a game that you won't want to miss.

Overall Record vs. Red Bulls: 31-27-16
Home Record vs. Red Bulls: 23-6-7

Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Red Bulls 0 (April 20, 2019)
Last Meeting at Red Bull Arena: Revs 1, Red Bulls 1 (August 17, 2019)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls | August 29, 2020 -

On Saturday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look, as Major League Soccer and the Revs continue their milestone 25th season. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
