FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will host drive-in watch parties on the Gillette Stadium field for the team’s matches in the MLS is Back Tournament, allowing fans to watch the club’s return to play inside the stadium in a socially-distanced environment. Fans will park on the stadium field to view the game on the north and south end zone video boards. Tickets cost $40 per vehicle. All ticket proceeds from the event will benefit the United Negro College Fund’s (UNCF) Virtual Walk for Education, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Boston Branch, and Special Olympics Massachusetts.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime for Revolution fans and the first opportunity of its kind in Gillette Stadium history,” said Revolution Club President Brian Bilello. “Our supporters are incredibly passionate about the club and we are excited to provide this unique experience for our fans to gather together again and watch the team return to play.”

Cars will undergo security screening prior to entering the stadium, which will open two hours prior to kickoff. Restrooms will be available on the lower concourse with proper social distancing protocols in place. Fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn seating and non-alcoholic refreshments, as concessions will not be available.

Each of the 26 MLS teams involved will play three group stage matches, and those results will count in the 2020 MLS regular season standings. After 16 consecutive days of group stage matches, the top three teams in the six-team Group A, the top two teams from each of the other five groups, and the next three highest-ranked teams in the group stage will move on to the knockout rounds. The knockout rounds will include a Round-of-16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and the Championship match will take place on August 11.

The Revolution played two regular-season games before the 2020 MLS season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. New England currently sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with a 0-1-1 record (1 pt.) following a season-opening loss to Montreal on Feb. 29, 2-1, and a draw against Chicago Fire FC, 1-1, in the team’s home opener on March 7.
