Revs hire 98.5 The Sports Hub anchor Mike “Sarge” Riley as public address announcer

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have hired 98.5 The Sports Hub anchor Mike “Sarge” Riley as the club’s public address announcer for the 2020 Major League Soccer season. A veteran sports announcer and on-air personality with nearly two decades of experience behind the microphone in the Boston area, Riley is currently a sports anchor on the Revolution’s flagship radio station, 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ-FM).

In addition to announcing all Revolution home games at Gillette Stadium in 2020, beginning with the home opener on Saturday, March 7 vs. Chicago Fire FC, Riley’s current roles include serving as public address announcer for Babson College men’s and women’s basketball, Providence College men’s ice hockey, and the Boston Cannons. His selection comes following an extensive audition process during the 2019 season, during which he stepped into the Gillette Stadium booth on multiple occasions to announce Revolution games. He has also filled in for Patriots home games and at TD Garden for the Boston Bruins.

Riley has served as the public address announcer for several collegiate programs throughout New England, calling multiple sports for Boston College and Mount Ida College, as well as men’s ice hockey for Bentley University, and Merrimack College. He spent time as the Master of Ceremonies for Boston Blazers lacrosse games at TD Garden, and minor league baseball outfits Brockton Rox and the Lowell Spinners. He also served as announcer for Needham High School Athletics from 1999-2011.
