New England Revolution at Colorado Rapids

Thursday, July 4, 2019 | 9 p.m. ET

Dick's Sporting Goods Park | Commerce City, CO

Predicted Weather: Mostly sunny | High 90 | Low 62

This will be the 46th regular-season match between the New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids dating all the way back to the league's inaugural season in 1996.

The Revs and Rapids last met for New England's 2018 home opener, when the Revolution took down Colorado, 2-1, with an exciting 93rd-minute game winner from former defender Chris Tierney. The Revs have had a lot of success against this opponent in recent years, winning four of their last five meetings against the Rapids, including three by shutout.

Both the Revs and the Rapids have had drastic turnarounds this season after switching coaching leadership. The Rapids are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run (5-0-2) under interim head coach Conor Casey, while the Revs are unbeaten in six (3-0-3) since sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena has stepped in. With two teams currently heating up in MLS, this will be an explosive Fourth of July game with fireworks that you won't want to miss.

Break out your new kit, “The Colonial!"

The Revs will be sporting their sleek new secondary kits - this time with navy shorts -  which take inspiration from uniforms the colonial generals wore in the Revolutionary War.

These jerseys sport a white front with light blue sides and sleeves, and are tied together with navy blue trim. The light blue sides continue to cover the back of the jersey, topped near the neckline with the classic image of the Flag of New England.

You can own "The Colonial" by visiting the Gillette Stadium Pro Shop, or clicking HERE.
