FOXBOROUGH, MA. – Six Revolution Academy players have announced their college commitments for the 2019-20 academic year. All five players competed on the Revolution U-19 team that won the 2018-19 Northeast Division. Feb. 6 marked the first day that a high school senior could sign a binding National Letter of Intent for a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) member institution. The deadline for high school seniors to sign a National Letter of Intent is on August 1.

Midfielder Trevor Burns has verbally committed to Georgetown University, where he will play under Head Coach Brian Wiese. Burns, 17, has played six seasons in the Revolution Academy and tallied three goals in 18 appearances for the U-19s this season. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Marco Saborio Perez has committed to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Perez joined the Academy in 2019 and started three games in net this spring.

Four additional players are set to join Division-I programs as defender Prince Loney-Bailey has committed to James Madison University, forward Josh Machado has committed to UMass-Lowell, forward Gevork Diarbian has verbally committed to Providence College, and midfielder Andrew White has committed to Lehigh University, where fellow Academy alum Matt Morana (2015) recently finished his senior season. Loney-Bailey has played six seasons for the Revs Academy, making 23 appearances and scoring two goals during the 2017-18 campaign, while Machado scored one goal in 18 appearances throughout the 2018-19 season. Diarbian made 19 appearances for the U-19s this season, while White scored three goals in 18 starts this year.

“We are thrilled for all six players who will continue their careers at the collegiate level,” Revolution Director of Youth Development Bryan Scales said. “Each player’s development and growth demonstrates the tremendous effort they’ve each put in during their time with the Academy. We look forward to watching their continued success.”
