Preseason enters final stages as Revs battle Orlando City SC on Wednesday night

Brad Friedel - Preseason - Bradenton, Florida

BRADENTON, Fla. – As the New England Revolution continue their preseason stint in Florida they will return to Orlando on Wednesday night for their second match of the Orlando City Invitational, this time taking on the hosts.

Preseason is all about development, and the Revs are looking to showcase their growth when they kick off against the Lions. From fitness to tactics, it’s important to ensure that each time the Revs take the field in preseason, whether it is at training or in a game setting, that they know what they’re looking to accomplish.

“Again [looking for], another extended run of minutes,” said head coach Brad Friedel.

“Competition and hopefully ramp up and try to get that competitive spirit and get some results, as well, but hoping the most important thing is that everyone comes away unscathed with no injuries.”

The Revs have put a lot of work into their fitness levels to help ensure that injuries are at a minimum, and that they have that solid foundation to build on tactically.

“I think everyone is pretty fit at this point,” said goalkeeper Matt Turner.

“Now, it’s starting to shape the culture of what we do every time we step on the field, and that includes winning, so we look forward to playing tomorrow night and getting a win.”

The Revs are set to kick off against Orlando City SC at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. There will not be a live stream available, but there will be updates provided on the team Twitter account (@NERevolution) and a highlight package available after the match.
