Academy Update: U13s and U14s play to pair of draws with World Class FC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy's Under-14 and Under-13 teams were back in action at World Class FC this weekend, while the Under-17s are in the midst of the Generation adidas Cup Finals.


The U-14s and U-13s travelled to Orangeburg, N.Y. for a pair of contests at World Class FC, which both ended in draws. The U-14s played to a scoreless draw, with the U-13s' match ended with both sides scoring a goal apiece. Meanwhile, the Revolution's Under-17 team is currently competing in the Generation adidas Cup Finals in Frisco, Texas. The Revs will play Club Tijuana at 10 a.m. ET tomorrow for the fourth match of the competition, while Saturday's opponent will be determined by the result of tomorrow's contest.


All five Academy teams will resume their respective schedules on Saturday, April 7. The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will play matches at Empire United, while the U-14s and U-13s will host contests vs. NEFC at Gillette Stadium.


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts '04 (Westborough, Mass.) recorded two saves over 80 minutes to register a shutout performance for the U-14s in a scoreless draw at World Class FC.
  • Midfielder Jack LaBelle '05 (Peabody, Mass.) recorded the match-tying goal for the U-14s to secure a 1-1 draw at World Class FC.
  • Midfielder Oscar Martinez '05 (Revere, Mass.) recorded his third assist of the season on Labelle's game-tying goal.
