Revolution Academy Update: September 29, 2017

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five Revolution Academy were in action over the weekend, with each team squaring off against Oakwood Soccer Club. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s traveled to Glastonbury, Conn. for road contests on Sunday, Sept. 24, while the Under-14s and Under-13s hosted matches at Medway High School in Medway, Mass. on Saturday, Sept. 23

Each of the five teams will travel to Purchase, N.Y. for matches against FC Westchester Armour on Saturday Sept. 30. The U-13s will open the five-game slate at 11 a.m., while the U-19s and U-15s will conclude the weekend with simultaneous matches scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on the campus of Purchase College.


  • Forward Luis Blanco '01 (Pawtucket, R.I.) registered a brace for the U-17s in a 2-2 draw. Midfielder Trevor Burns '01 (Southborough, Mass.) and forward Michael Tsicoulias '02 (Newton, Mass.) recorded assists in the match.
  • Midfielder Sam White '03 (Worcester, Mass.) posted the game-winning goal and an assist, while midfielder Andrew Serafino '03 (East Longmeadow, Mass.) added his fourth goal of the season in the U-15s' 3-2 win over Oakwood Soccer Club.
  • Midfielder/forward Christian Martins '04 (Framingham, Mass.), defender Avery Palma '04(Plainville, Conn.), and midfielder Jack Panayotou '04 (Cambridge, Mass.) each netted a pair of goals in the U-14s' 7-0 win over Oakwood Soccer Club. Martins and Panayotou also recorded an assist each in the match.
  • Goalkeepers Matthew Tibbetts '04 (Westborough, Mass.) and Sebastian Pliszka '04 (Newington, Conn.) combined to post a shutout in the U-14s' win. Tibbetts played the first 55 minutes of the contest, while Pliszka closed out the match.
  • Midfielder Jack LaBelle '05 (Peabody, Mass.) scored two goals and added an assist in the U-13s' 5-2 victory over Oakwood Soccer Club.
