Revolution Academy Update: September 20, 2017

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five Revolution Academy teams took to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 16. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s traveled to Canada for matches against the Montreal Impact, while the U-14s and U-13s hosted TSF Academy at Medway High School in Medway, Mass.


Each of the five teams will be back in action against Oakwood Soccer Club this weekend. The U-14s and U-13s will host matches at Medway High School on Saturday, Sept. 23. The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will play road contests at TD Bank Oakwood Soccer Park in Portland, Conn. on Sunday, Sept. 24.


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Luis Blanco '01 (Pawtucket, R.I.) recorded his first goal at the U-19 level while playing up an age group over the weekend. Through four matches this season, Blanco has scored two goals.
  • Forward Ben Verner '02 (Acton, Mass.) scored his first two goals as a Revolution Academy player with the U-17s over the weekend.
  • Defender Avery Palma '04 (Plainville, Conn.) scored in dramatic fashion, recording the game-winning goal in the 80th minute of play to give the U-14s a 2-1 win over TSF Academy.
  • Forward Andres Garcia '05 (Southampton, Mass.) recorded his first two goals as a Revolution Academy player within a three-minute span in the U-13s' 4-0 win over TSF Academy. Forward Bryann Almeida '05 (Framingham, Mass.) and midfielder Joseph Buckley '05 (Westwood, Mass.) also recorded their first goals as Revolution Academy players in the match.
  • Goalkeepers Sam Martin '05 (Westwood, Mass.) and Trevor Piltch '05 (Falmouth, Maine) combined to keep a clean sheet in the U-13s' 4-0 victory.
