Agudelo slated to return from injury as Revs visit his former team on Saturday night

Juan Agudelo vs. Seattle Sounders FC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Juan Agudelo is expected to be available for selection when the New England Revolution visit the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.

An upper extremity injury has sidelined Agudelo for the past two games, but the 24-year-old forward recently returned to full training with no ill effects.

“I think he’s there,” head coach Jay Heaps said when asked how close Agudelo is to a return. “We brought him out today (Tuesday) and he was able to go through all the paces, so I think at this time, both he and Gershon (Koffie) are starting to really push for more minutes.”

Agudelo, who has scored six goals in 10 appearances (all starts) this season, began his professional career with the Red Bulls as a 17-year-old Homegrown Player in 2010, making 36 appearances in parts of three seasons with the club. Born in Colombia, Agudelo was raised in Barnegat, New Jersey.

Kickoff for Saturday night’s game is set for 7:30 p.m., with Brad Feldman, Paul Mariner and Naoko Funayama handling the call on CSN New England and 98.5 The Sports Hub.
