Jermaine Jones called in to U.S. National Team for CONCACAF Cup

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones has been called in to the U.S. National Team for their upcoming CONCACAF Cup showdown with Mexico. Jones with travel to Southern California on Sunday for a week of training ahead of the game against Mexico, which will be played at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 10. The CONCACAF Cup will kick off at 9:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports GO, Univision and the Univision Deportes Network with the winner representing CONCACAF at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.


Since making his international debut with the U.S. in 2010, Jones has been capped 52 times, scoring three times. Four of those 52 appearances have come in 2015, including a pair of starts in friendlies against Peru and Brazil last month.


With the Revs this season, Jones has appeared in 15 games, starting 14 times and helping the club collect a 7-2-6 record in games that he has appeared in. The Revolution captain originally joined the club in August 2014 and has tallied three goals and six assists in 30 games in all competitions with the Revs, including a goal and two assists in the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs as New England reached MLS Cup for the first time in seven years.
