FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution posted a 2-0 victory against the reigning MLS Champion, Sporting Kansas City, on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. With the win, the Revs are now tied for second in the Eastern Conference, one point shy of first place.

Teal Bunbury’s stoppage-time goal – his first as a member of the Revolution and also his first goal against his former team – secure the win for the Revs. Lee Nguyen sealed the win with a successful penalty kick three minutes later. Both goals came after Kansas City’s Aurelien Collin was ejected in the 74th minute for a stud-up tackle on Diego Fagundez.

New England (3-3-2, 11 pts.) is now unbeaten at Gillette Stadium in its last six games (4-0-2) dating back to Sept. 21, 2013, and have yet to allow a goal at Gillette Stadium this season, they restricted Kansas City (3-2-2, 11 pts.) to a single shot on goal.

The Revs return to action next Saturday, May 3, when they travel to Canada to face Toronto FC at BMO Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET. Comcast Sports Net will televise the game, while 98.5 The Sports Hub will carry the game on the radio.
