FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution is extending its youth development model into Connecticut after the Revolution Academy and Connecticut Football Club (CFC) announced a partnership to bring Academy programming to Connecticut.

The new partnership will establish Revolution Academy instructional and elite training programs open to Connecticut’s youth players, exposing both players and coaches to the highly-ranked Revolution Academy’s training methodology. CFC will also host Revolution Academy Regional Development Schools and Revolution Training Centers for youth players statewide. The Revs Academy will also run Team Academy programs for various squads throughout CFC.

CFC coaches will benefit from Revolution Academy-run coaching clinics, and also have the opportunity to observe Revs’ first-team and youth-team training sessions at Gillette Stadium.

Additionally, CFC players and coaches will have the opportunity to watch Revolution home games, and also play in the Revolution’s training facility at Gillette Stadium through a special ticking program.

“We are extremely excited to partner with the Connecticut Football Club, one of the premier youth soccer clubs in the New England region,” Deven Apajee, Revolution Academy Director, said. “This partnership not only allows the Revolution Academy to work alongside a great group of coaches who have been very successful in developing players for the next level, but also gives Connecticut’s youth players the ability to work with coaches from Revolution youth teams and training programs throughout the year. We hope to compliment and increase the success that CFC has had with our player development programs, player identification events and coach education seminars.”

“We are delighted to partner with one of the top U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Programs in the nation. CFC is continuously looking for ways to enhance our programming in order to offer more to our players, parents, coaches and staff. This relationship with New England’s only MLS club will accomplish that goal.” Stephen Coxon, president and owner of Connecticut Football Club, said. “Our partnership with the Revolution Academy will open up doors and resources for our players which will be unmatched in the state of Connecticut. This partnership will allow our CFC players to be coached and monitored by the Revs Academy staff throughout the year and will give our elite players the opportunity to not only graduate up the ranks and potentially play for one of the best Academy programs in the country, but also play for the only fully-funded Academy program in New England.”
