With two games again played at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., Sunday morning was a near repeat of Saturday.
The U18s were up early for a 6:30 a.m. breakfast in the hotel, before driving over to the Premier Sports Complex for their game, and the U16s arrived at the fields later for their kickoff. The weather was much warmer – in the 70’s and sunny – but the winds reached 20 MPH, again playing a factor in the event. After returning to the hotel, the players had a short regeneration session in the pool, ate lunch and enjoyed a couple hours of downtime.
The group then made the trip back to the Premier Sports Complex to watch the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team take on Brazil in its final game of the Nike International Friendlies. Revolution U16 Guy Kabala (Manchester, N.H.) started and played 64 minutes in the match while his teammates watched among a capacity crowd. The U.S. won 3-1 and was crowned 2011 Nike International Friendlies champion.
From the fields, the group went to a late dinner.
Monday is a day off for the Revs, and they will next take on North Meck SC (N.C.) on Tuesday in their third and final games of the Winter Showcase.
