Youth Update: Seacoast United

Youth

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All three of the New England Revolution’s youth teams were on the road last weekend, posting a combined 2-1-0 record against Seacoast United on Sunday, Nov. 10, in Epping, N.H. The Under-16s and Under-14s came away with impressive shutout victories – 5-0 and 7-0, respectively – while the Under-18s suffered 3-1 loss.

UNDER-18s

The Under-18s suffered a 3-1 loss to Seacoast United on Sunday. Mario Prata gave Seacoast the early lead in the eighth minute of play, maintaining the one-goal advantage for much of the first half. In the 31st minute, Declan McCabe (Weston, Mass.) picked up the ball in the midfield and played Danny Apajee (Cranston, R.I.), who rounded the goalkeeper in a one-on-one and slotted it home to equalize. Seacoast answered before the whistle for halftime, when Frantzdy Pierrot scored in the 38th minute. Keith Hill then scored in the 50th minute, bringing the score to 3-1 in the home side’s favor. Despite long spells of possession and multiple opportunities, the Revs were unable to get back in the game and suffered third consecutive road loss. Now 3-4-1 (10 pts.) on the season, the U18s are currently in seventh place in the East Conference of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with 1.25 points per game.

UNDER-16s

The Under-16s shut out Seacoast United, 5-0, on Sunday. Justin Freitas (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) each scored two goals, while Eddie Venta-Yepes (Lowell, Mass.) had a one-goal, three-assist performance. Matt Morana (Shrewsbury, Mass.) also registered an assist on Freitas’ 10th-minute goal. Goalkeeper Bill Sinibaldi (Plaistow, N.H.) made five saves en route to the shutout – the U16s’ third of the season – including stopping a Seacoast penalty kick in the 78th minute. With a 3-3-2 (11 pts.) record, the Revs remain in seventh place in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s East Conference with 1.38 points per game.

UNDER-14s

The Under-14s earned a convincing 7-0 victory against Seacoast United on Sunday. Christian Schifano (Sudbury, Mass.) scored five goals between the 14th and 75th minutes, complemented by single goals from Calvin Aroh (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Connor Haskell (Medfield, Mass.). Joe Brito (Bolton, Conn.) registered a pair of assists, while Andre Bois (Provincetown, Mass.), Prince Loney-Bailey (Cambridge, Mass.), Poom Mera (Swansea, Mass.) and Travis Van Brewer (Wilbraham, Mass.) each added single assists. Goalkeeper Eddie Walsh (Westwood, Mass.) made one save to preserve the shutout – the Revs’ second of the season. The Under-14s are now 4-2-1 (13 pts.) on the season.

The U18s and U16s are set to take on BSC CT Academy at University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., on Saturday, Nov. 16. The U14s travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., this weekend to compete in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s U13/U14 East Regional Event, where they are scheduled to face Jacksonville FC and D.C. United.
