FOXBOROUGH, Mass. ā The Revolution roster continues to grow, as 19 new players signed with the club on May 14, when the Revolution held the 11th annual Unified Team Signing Day in partnership with Special Olympics Massachusetts and the Arbella Insurance Group. The ceremony celebrated the newest members of the Revolution Unified Team ā comprised of Special Olympics athletes and local Unified partner athletes ā who signed contracts to join the squad as official players.
āThroughout tryouts there were a lot of really good players, and itās very exciting to see them all sign their contracts today,ā said Revolution defender Wyatt Omsberg, who was there to support players as they joined the squad. āThey earned the right to be on the team. Iām very happy to have them be a part of the Revolution.ā

Among the players signing their names on the dotted line was Radley Theolien, a standout athlete and MLS Unified All-Star, now entering his fourth season with the club.
āIt means the world to me to be able to sign with the New England Revolution, one of my favorite teams. I really enjoy this moment,ā he said following the ceremony inside the Sports Illustrated Pavilion at Gillette Stadium. āThis is a moment for me to cherish.ā
Theolien, a native of Dorchester, Massachusetts, has been a Revolution fan for more than a decade. To wear New Englandās crest, he explained, inspires the goal-scoring forward to continue pursuing his dreams.
Now a seasoned veteran, Theolien had wise words to share with his new teammates.
āYouāve got to work hard, and we have to do what we have to do every single day. When we step on that pitch, practice facility, or anything, you just have to work hard,ā he said. āThe biggest thing for me is communication. The biggest thing is to be able to communicate, knowing where to position yourself day in and day out, and figuring out where to go with that. Communication is key and thatās how weāre going to do it.ā
On signing day, the players were able to meet Revolution head coach Caleb Porter, who provided the team with a preseason pep talk to motivate them throughout the road ahead. Along with Omsberg, Revolution defenders Andrew Farrell and Tanner Beason were also in attendance to celebrate the clubās newest additions.

āItās a first step in a pretty long journey. They did have to try out and make the team, but what we love about today is, especially for the new players, they come in really excited, really wide-eyed, and the great thing is that the Revs really wow the players with the presentation,ā explained Special Olympics Massachusetts AVP of Development, Brand and Marketing Charles Hirsch. āWhat we expect is the team to go all in, to put the efforts into training and really show the club the respect that it deserves.ā
The Revolution Unified Team will play two matches this season, reinforcing the clubās commitment to inclusion, representation, and support for Special Olympics Massachusetts. The squad will kick off its 2025 campaign with a home match at Gillette Stadium against the Colorado Rapids Unified Team on June 28, immediately following the Revolutionās Pride Night matchup with Coloradoās first team.
The Unified squad will close out the season with a road match in Charlotte, taking on Charlotte FCās Unified Team on July 12. Fans can continue to support the cause beyond the pitch by attending the annual Bowl for a Goal, benefiting Special Olympics Massachusetts and hosted in partnership with the Revolution and Arbella Insurance, on July 30 from 6 ā 9 p.m. at Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Patriot Place.
āThe key for us is making sure that everyone is included on the playing field. What this program does is make sure that our athletes and our unified partners are included on one of the most important playing surfaces, certainly in New England, getting to represent themselves, their communities, and the Revolution Unified program on the pitch of Gilette,ā said Hirsch. āHopefully thousands of fans stick around to watch our game. I think thatās inclusion to me.ā

For many Revolution players, Unified Signing Day isnāt just a highlight of the year ā itās a reminder of the power sports have to unite and uplift. Omsberg reflected on the dayās significance, noting how events like these go far beyond the pitch.
āThereās a couple of games and hopefully they donāt stress too much about that,ā he said with a smile. āItās all about having fun and being inclusive and building a community. The club has done a really good job of that since Iāve been here this year, and Iāve been really impressed with all the community work that the club does. This is a really good example of it, and Iām just excited to have some new teammates.ā
As the Unified Team embarks on its new season, the message on signing day was clear: itās more than just soccer. Itās about teamwork, empowerment, and creating a lasting impact on and off the field.
