Revs prepared for Orlando City’s never-say-die attitude: “You can’t switch off”

London Woodberry vs. Orlando City SC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – No lead is safe against Orlando City SC.

The Lions have been Major League Soccer’s version of “The Comeback Kids” this season, scoring a league-best 11 goals in the final 15 minutes. Three times they’ve erased two-goal, second-half deficits, and they’ve drawn their last two games despite trailing at halftime in both.

“It shows you that they have an extra gear and they can get back in games,” said New England Revolution head coach Jay Heaps, who has seen Orlando City score in the 90th minute or later in three of their four all-time meetings with the Revs.

Orlando have conceded the first goal nine times this season but have come back to claim points from seven of those games, going 1-2-6 when falling behind 1-0.

It’s something the Revs will keep in mind when they visit Camping World Stadium on Sunday night.

“At the end of the day, it’s a 90-minute game,” said London Woodberry. “You can’t switch off. If you switch off, you’re going to end up feeling unhappy in the locker room at the end of the game.

“I think it just comes down to mentally preparing yourself and being ready to make a play.”
