FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (7-4-2-; 25 pts.; 2nd in East) will host New York City FC II (7-3-1; 22 pts.; 6th in East) on Wednesday evening at Gillette Stadium. The midweek match kicks off at 5:00 p.m. ET and streams live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Revolution II enters its second of four midweek contests this season following a shootout victory over Chicago Fire II on Sunday night. New England battled Fire II to a 2-2 draw before taking home the extra point with a 4-3 edge in the shootout. Jack Panayotou, a Homegrown Player from Cambridge, Mass., opened the scoring with his second goal of the season. The 19-year-old has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time in his professional career. Jordan Adebayo-Smith joined Panayotou on the scoresheet with a goal-and-assist performance. Adebayo-Smith now owns five goals on the season, tied with three other players - Damian Rivera, Marcos Dias, and Esmir Bajraktarević - for the team lead. Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson made two saves in the match and an additional two saves in the shootout.

New England’s top goal scorers continue to lead an attack that holds its position among top MLS NEXT Pro offenses in several categories. Revolution II has netted 30 goals through 13 matches this season, tied with Colorado Rapids 2 for the league lead. New England also ranks second in assists (19) and seventh in shots on target (70). Revolution II are logging shots on net at a 44 percent clip this season, the fourth-best rate in MLS NEXT Pro. New England’s four-way tie for the team lead in goals scored outpaces the scoring totals of 12 teams in MLS NEXT Pro who’ve yet to reach the 20-goal mark thus far.

Wednesday evening’s match marks the third and final regular season meeting in 2023 between New England and New York City FC II. The two sides last met at Gillette Stadium on April 2, when Bajraktarević provided late heroics in Foxborough with a game-winner in the 89th minute en route to a 2-1 win for Revolution II. New England owns a 1-2-2 all-time record against New York City FC II and a 4-1-2 home record this season.

“It's a quick turnaround, but I think playing against New York City FC II, we have something to prove now against them in a few days,” defender Colby Quiñones said following Sunday’s match. “So hopefully we can get the win and separate us from them on the table.”
