FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Revolution II defender and Academy graduate Colby Quiñones has been called up to the Puerto Rico Men's National Team for the team’s upcoming friendly against the Dominican Republic. The two teams will play one another on American soil for the first time on Thursday, Sept. 22 at Riccardo Silva Stadium on the campus of Florida International University (7:30 p.m. ET).

The selection marks the fourth Puerto Rico Men’s Senior Team call-up for the Revolution Academy product. Quiñones earned his first two senior caps in June during Puerto Rico’s Concacaf Nations League matches against Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands. The defender has also appeared twice for Puerto Rico’s U-20 National Team.

Quiñones, 19, signed a professional contract with Revolution II on November 30, 2019 and became the first active Revolution Academy player to feature in a professional match. He has since appeared in 49 matches with New England’s second team, logging 25 starts with over 2,600 minutes played. The rightback also recently notched his first professional goal on August 21 vs. Philadelphia Union II.

The Bedford, N.H. native, whose Puerto Rican heritage extends from his father’s side of the family, joined the Revolution Academy ahead of the 2017-18 season and made over 65 appearances in the youth ranks. He scored four goals while playing various positions, including midfielder and fullback. Additionally, Quiñones was one of the first four members of the Revolution Academy’s residency program that began in 2019.
