Revolution defender Brandon Bye undergoes successful knee surgery

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (August 28, 2023) – New England Revolution defender Brandon Bye underwent successful surgery to repair a torn right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on Monday. The procedure was performed by Dr. Scott Martin at Massachusetts General Hospital. The anticipated recovery period is approximately nine months. Bye sustained the injury in the team’s Leagues Cup match on August 3. 

Bye has been New England’s featured right back for most of his six professional seasons since being drafted in the first round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. In his MLS career, Bye owns 153 regular season appearances, 139 starts, nine goals and 17 assists, all with New England. The veteran defender has also featured four times in the MLS Cup Playoffs, with two starts. 

The Revolution are back at home for two matches this week beginning Wednesday, Aug. 30 against the New York Red Bulls (Free on Apple TV), before Austin FC comes to Foxborough on Saturday, Sept. 2 (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV). Both contests kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium. With 10 matches remaining in the 2023 MLS regular season, New England sits third in the Eastern Conference entering the midweek action.
