Revolution Announce 2017-18 Academy Roster

Academy U14s Win Tournament

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have announced their Academy roster for the 2017-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season. In total, 86 players from the New England region were selected for the Revolution Academy squads. All five teams will open play this weekend at East Providence High School, with the U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s hosting Empire United on Saturday, Sept. 2, while the U-13s and U-14s take on World Class FC on Sunday, Sept. 3. The Revolution Academy is coming off the 2016-17 season which saw 10 players receive a combined 26 international call ups to U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams. In addition, the Under-18s advanced to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs. The Academy will return 43 players, while 43 new players have been added. The Revolution Academy has expanded for the 2017-18 season, which will be the inaugural season for the Under-15 team. The three oldest age groups consist of a combination of both returning and new players, while the Under-14s and Under-13s are comprised of entirely new players.

“We’re looking forward to the continued growth of our Academy program and are excited to carry five teams. With the addition of our U-15 team, we are able to provide more opportunities for players in training and in matches,” Revolution Director of Youth Development Bryan Scales said. “We believe that this group of players will continue to represent the club with class both on and off the field."

In 2016, the New England Revolution Academy created an Under-12 Alliance with partner clubs Bayside FC, NEFC, and Valeo FC. This season, 16 players from the three clubs will join the New England Revolution Academy at the Under-14 and Under-13 levels.

Entering its 10th season, the Revolution Academy is the only fully-funded, professional youth development program in New England, and competes in the prestigious U.S. Soccer Development Academy as well as the MLS Generation adidas Cup. Qualified and talented players are accepted into the program without regard to their financial situation. All players’ needs and expenses related to soccer activities – training, facilities, equipment, uniforms, travel associated with competitions – are provided by the Revolution at no cost to the players or their families.
