FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (December 19, 2023) – The New England Revolution acquired $100,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Minnesota United FC in exchange for New England’s natural first- and third-round selections in MLS SuperDraft 2024.

The Revolution no longer hold a pick entering Tuesday’s MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas. Minnesota receives the 20th and 78th overall selections from New England, while the Revolution previously traded the club’s second-round selection to D.C. United as part of the deal to acquire Ian Harkes.

“As we evaluated our supplemental roster and the strength of our academy and pro pathway ahead of Tuesday’s MLS SuperDraft, and weighed that against our late-round position in the draft order, we decided that the best way to strengthen our club this week would be to leverage our draft capital into valuable allocation money that will help allow us greater flexibility to enhance our team through the senior roster,” Sporting Director Curt Onalfo said of the decision to trade out of Tuesday’s draft in exchange for GAM.

MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas is scheduled to kick off Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ET, streaming live on MLS Season Pass (Apple TV). The complete 2024 Major League Soccer schedule is then expected to be revealed this Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 20. With newly installed Head Coach Caleb Porter now at the helm, the Revolution are set to begin the 2024 competition calendar with Round One of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup against CA Independiente on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Panama (8:00 p.m. ET). The return leg at home is slated for Thursday, Feb. 29 (8:15 p.m. ET).
