New England Revolution II (5-1-2, 18 pts.) defeated FC Cincinnati 2 (1-7-0, 3 pts.), 1-0, at NKU Stadium on Sunday evening. Brazilian forward Marcos Dias scored his second goal in as many games as Jacob Jackson made four saves to secure his fourth clean sheet in MLS NEXT Pro.

The match remained scoreless through the first half with Jackson making three stops to keep the game tied including a point-blank save in the 32nd minute. Rozhansky entered the match in the 46th minute allowing him to set up Dias, whose left-footed shot broke the deadlock. Dias’ goal, his second of the season, also served as the game winner as Revolution II notched their fifth win of the season.

“The ball was on the right side of the box. We were outside the box, and I can’t remember who played me the ball, but I played to my left foot," Rozhansky said. "I kind of just turned and I saw him inside at the right on top of the box, played it to him and then he did everything. I mean it was an amazing shot that ended up winning us the game so it’s credit to him. I didn’t really do much honestly.”

Defender Mike DeShields entered the starting lineup for the first time this season alongside forwardMeny Silva starting in place of Jake Rozhansky and Ben Reveno.

“I thought both guys have been working hard, deserved a look," Head Coach Clint Peay said postgame. "This team is about trying to bring players along and you have to see them in games, so it was important to give them that opportunity. I thought both equipped themselves fairly well, made some decent plays. You’d like to see Meny [Silva] finish that chance he has, but he got there which is good.”

New England returns to action on Friday, May 27 as Revolution II hosts Philadelphia Union II at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on MLSNEXTPro.com with tickets on sale now.
