CURRENT FORM
New England Revolution
4th in Eastern Conference (5-3-1, 16 pts.)
Last Result | 1-1 draw at Inter Miami CF
The Revs are back home after earning four points on the road last week. They return to Gillette Stadium on a five-game unbeaten run in league play, defending a perfect record at home this season. Of their 17 goals scored, 12 have come in front of the fans in Foxborough. The Revs will look to continue their aggression on the attack and remain balanced defensively, conceding just 12 goals in nine games.
New England kick off a four-game homestand on Saturday night – a welcome stay amid another busy month ahead. The Revs exited the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night, after playing a largely rotated squad against Orlando City SC and falling, 4-3.
Charlotte FC
5th in Eastern Conference (4-4-2, 14 pts.)
Last Result | 4-2 loss at Nashville SC
Charlotte are amongst the highest scoring teams in the East, netting 18 goals in 10 games. They have spread out the scoring this season, splitting their goals amongst seven different scorers. While they’ve been threatening on the attack, they’ve been somewhat loose defensively, conceding 18 times, as well. Of their allowed goals, eight came in their last two games after two consecutive losses last week.
Charlotte arrive to Foxborough with just a single win on the road this season, where they have yet to earn a clean sheet. Sitting just below New England in the standings, it should be a competitive test between two closely matched teams.
KEY PLAYERS
Revolution midfielder Carles Gil
Carles Gil continues to be a difference maker for the Revolution this season, with two goals and three assists on his ledger. Gil currently has the second-most goal contributions for the Revs this year, after leading the team in 2025 with 10 goals and 14 assists. In his last three outings, Gil has bagged two goals and logged one assist.
With an xG of 2.28, Gil is the highest expected goal scorer on the team. As New England look to continue defending the fort in Foxborough, Gil will play an integral role, not only on the attack, but defending through the midfield, as well.
Charlotte midfielder Pep Biel
Pep Biel’s five-goal season has landed him on Team of the Matchday twice this year, as he leads The Crown in goal contributions. Along with his five goals, the Spaniard has added four assists, including one goal and two assists across his last three matches.
Last season, Biel was similarly influential for Charlotte with 10 goals and 12 assists overall, establishing himself as one of the league’s most productive midfielders. As the Revs seek to shut down The Crown’s attack, Biel will be a target player who has consistently shaped their chances in the final third.
HEAR FROM THE REVS
Head coach Marko Mitrović on how the team will defend against Charlotte FC’s attack on Saturday:
“Charlotte has a lot of talent on the field, and a lot of players starting or coming off the bench that keep doing the same things. It’s a team that is capable of creating good situations on the field in any given moment. That’s probably one of the reasons why they are so successful, with the amount of goals that they scored this season.”
Mitrović on the team developing and improving under his style of play:
“I would say number one, for me, it goes with relentless fighting spirit. Every time we step on the field, that’s something we would love from our guys to be present. And then talking about that, if we’re in possession or out of possession, no matter what our strategy is – do we want to be in a high press or lower on the field to defend, or if we build up or finish the attack – that intensity and that relentless mentality has to be present. That, for me, is a foundation. The second thing is our togetherness on the field and that we are all together in everything. I think those are the things that we’re really improving and getting better game after game.”
Midfielder Brooklyn Raines on carrying an unbeaten 4-0-0 record at home this season:
“We’re on a home winning streak, so I think it’s important that we remain humble, but we still want to go and win every game possible at home. I think, again, it’s just about the small things that we do and having the right mentality of going in and respecting our opponent but at the same time wanting to dominate.”
