CURRENT FORM

New England Revolution
9th in Eastern Conference (5-4-1, 16 pts.)

Last Result (U.S. Open Cup) | 2-1 win at Rhode Island FC
Last Result (MLS) | 2-0 win at Toronto FC

The Revolution have been on fire recently with four straight shutout victories and five wins in their last six MLS matches. This 2025 squad officially solidified a spot in club history after last weekend’s match in Toronto, as the 2-0 victory means the Revs have conceded a league-low seven goals through 10 games, the fewest at this stage of a season in New England’s 30-year history.

While New England’s defense has been a prominent fixture all season long, the squad has also started to blossom on the attack. Last match saw both Carles Gil and Leo Campana find the back of the net, bringing Gil’s tally to five goals in 2025. The captain leads the team in scoring and has made six overall goal contributions (five goals, one assist) in the last six games. The goals are only expected to keep flowing as New England continues to gel up top.

Orlando City SC
8th in Eastern Conference (4-2-5, 17 pts.)

Last Result (U.S. Open Cup) | 5-0 win at Tampa Bay Rowdies
Last Result (MLS) | 0-0 draw at Chicago Fire FC

Like the Revolution, Orlando has been a strong team defensively, conceding just 12 goals through their 11 matches. Orlando City has produced five consecutive clean sheets, leading the Eastern Conference in shutouts alongside the Revolution. While they have remained a contender through their defensive efforts, Orlando has recently lacked spark on the attack, with four of their last five league games ending in scoreless draws.

In their midweek Open Cup match, Orlando’s squad exploded for five goals against USL Championship side Tampa Bay Rowdies. While Orlando lined up mainly without their starters, a high-scoring win could inject a bit of energy into their attack. The Lions have only lost a single match at home so far this season, and will look to continue that form as New England come to town.

KEY PLAYERS

Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf
Alhassan Yusuf has been in peak form through his last few appearances, earning an assist in last week’s win over Toronto and appearing in nearly every minute of every game this season. The central midfielder boasts an 86 percent passing accuracy and consistently creates key opportunities – ranking second only to Carles Gil in key passes this season, with 10 so far.

Now in his first full season with the Revolution after joining for seven games in 2024, the Nigerian midfielder has grown in confidence and comfort with the team. His progress was on full display when a perfectly slotted pass from midfield found Leo Campana’s feet for the second goal in Toronto. As Yusuf shines in the Revolution’s new formation, he is expected to have an even larger influence on Revolution results.

Orlando goalkeeper Pedro Gallese
Pedro Gallese hasn’t conceded a goal for a club record 526 minutes. The Peruvian ‘keeper leads the Eastern Conference in clean sheets alongside Revolution ‘keeper, Aljaž Ivačič (5). He has conceded 12 goals through 11 matches and has been putting up some of his best performances in recent matches, earning a spot on MLS Team of the Matchday twice this season.

Gallese was awarded with the starting spot on MLS’ best XI last week after making a whopping eight saves in Orlando’s 0-0 draw with Chicago Fire FC. The ‘keeper made a double save in the 10th minute in Chicago to start off his shutout performance. As the Revolution look to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference standings, getting a ball past red-hot Gallese could prove a challenge.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Head coach Caleb Porter on the recent performance of Leo Campana and the attack:
“I think he’s done really well. He works extremely hard defensively. You look at the two goals in Toronto, they were in transition moments. So, we continue to be a team that is very good in the defending moments and turning those moments into, now, attacking transitions. We’re a very good transition team. He’s got pace. He works hard. He helps us press. He helps us transition. He just needed a little confidence, like any player. We’re feeling like he’s a guy that is going to now continue to, hopefully, each game do well and hopefully, he goes on a run.

“Back to your question, is it important? Yeah, it’s really important that our strikers score goals. But I liked how [Ignatius] Ganago and Leo played together in the Toronto match. It was our best attacking match by far when you look at all the analytics – shots in the box, half space actions, Zone 14 actions. All the little metrics we look at, it was our best attacking game, and for me, the difference was those two guys really played together. They’re starting to gain a chemistry. They’re starting to understand each other. They’re starting to read where the dangerous spaces are and read each other. We watched another film session with those two guys today. [Assistant Coach] Pablo Moreira does a great job with the front guys. The chemistry is the key. If those guys play together, then we’ll create a lot of chances and they’ll get their goals.”

Striker Leo Campana on the team’s ability to win on the road:
“I think we found our balance and our mentality. As you said, we have been winning away from home. It’s important, obviously, to get three points outside your city. We’ve faced Charlotte, we’ve faced Atlanta, we’ve faced Toronto, that is a tough team. Right now, for me, we’re going to play the toughest one, that’s Orlando, at their home. We know what we are capable of, we believe in ourselves, and we’ve been working really hard for this weekend. Hopefully, we can get the three points.”

Campana on building his momentum and continuing to find goals:
“It’s important. As I’ve said, every time on the pitch, I want to score. The most important thing is to get the three points. I take the positive out of the negatives. With my injury, I had time to reflect on a couple of things, to see the team from outside and how I can do better when I reintegrate myself into the group. I think that I’ve been doing those things well. We have to keep going, I have to keep scoring, and we have to keep winning. As I said, that’s the most important part. Hopefully, we can keep it up and on Saturday we can get the three points in Orlando.”
