CURRENT FORM
New England Revolution
5th in Eastern Conference (4-3-0, 12 pts.)
Last Result | 2-1 win vs. Columbus Crew
The Revs have a three-game winning streak after earning consecutive home wins at Gillette Stadium. While they’ve gone a perfect four-for-four on home soil, they’ve yet to find a win on the road. With momentum building from a successful homestand, New England will look to continue their winning form in Atlanta and carry their home strength on the road.
With 14 goals through seven games, New England are the fifth-highest scoring team in the East, conceding only 10 on the other side of the ball. The Revs head to Atlanta in the midst of a demanding stretch, with four games on the schedule in the next 11 days. With a game in hand, New England are well positioned to continue rising in the Eastern Conference if they can start collecting points away from home.
Atlanta United FC
14th in Eastern Conference (1-6-1, 4 pts.)
Last Result | 2-0 loss vs. Nashville SC
Atlanta have only secured four points in eight games, with just one win so far this season. That win came at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union. Since their lone victory, Atlanta have only scored a single goal in regular season play and sit one spot above the bottom of the Eastern table.
Atlanta have struggled to find their rhythm on either side of the ball this season, with just six goals scored and 14 conceded. Historically a strong side at home, Atlanta will look to turn their early-season results around in front of their home crowd on Wednesday night.
KEY PLAYERS
Revolution midfielder Carles Gil
Carles Gil had a goal and an assist across two meetings with Atlanta United last season. He opened his 2026 goalscoring account this past weekend, delivering the game winner against the Columbus Crew in his 200th regular‑season appearance. The goal marked his 50th in MLS play, placing him among the select group of active players who have reached both 50 goals and 50 assists.
Gil led New England in goal contributions last season with 10 goals and 14 assists. Through the Revolution’s first seven matches this season, he has added one goal and two assists, continuing to drive the attack. With momentum from his recent milestones and a history of success against Atlanta, the captain looks poised to keep building his tally on the road.
Atlanta midfielder Alexey Miranchuk
Alexey Miranchuk finished last season with Atlanta’s second‑highest goal contribution total, recording six goals and four assists. With their 2025 leading contributor, Miguel Almirón, sidelined by injury, the midfielder has stepped into an even larger attacking role this year. He leads the team with four goals, carrying much of Atlanta’s attacking load.
Miranchuk is also the only Atlanta player to score in any regular‑season match in April. As the team looks to break through in the final third, he remains their most reliable difference maker as they search for more goals.
HEAR FROM THE REVS
Assistant coach Sean Hughes on carrying the momentum from the three-game homestand into this week’s two-game road trip:
“It’s something we’ve talked about as a staff and obviously we want to bring that to the team. For us, we want to put ourselves in the game, wherever it is. It shouldn’t matter if we’re home or away, we want to make a good impression. I think what we have done very well at home is we’ve been so strong defensively. When you think about the games, we gave up a goal this weekend on the back of two shutouts, so we have to make that a base when we go on the road. We’re strong defensively, and in possession we still want to keep improving, create more opportunities, and bring the game to the opponents.”
Hughes on preparing for Atlanta United FC:
“Atlanta is another good team. We feel they’re a team that wants to have possession again, similar to Columbus in that respect. So, we have to be defensively strong. We have to give ourselves a good platform, but we know that we have quality in the team, we can create chances, and we will go there with the expectation to take the three points.”
Defender Ilay Feingold on the team searching for its first road victory of the season this week:
"We believe. We are going to face good opponents in Miami and Atlanta. It's going to be [two] really tough games against really good opponents. We are going to respect them, as we respect all the other teams in the league. We are going to show our football and I'm sure the results are going to come."
