New England Revolution Under-14 team to compete in 2019 International Champions Cup Futures Tournament

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy Under-14 team will participate in the second annual International Champions Cup Futures Tournament from Dec. 10-15, 2019 in Bradenton, Fla. The 24-team tournament will be held at IMG Academy and includes the U-14 sides of such global powers as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Arsenal FC, and Juventus FC, as well as eight MLS academies.


The ICC Futures Tournament, organized by Relevent Sports Group, is a premier youth soccer competition featuring the world’s future stars representing some of the most iconic global soccer academies. Among the 24 boys teams are 11 global invites, five MLS teams, three U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams, one Allstate Sueño Alianza team, and four ICC Regional All-Star teams.


For the first time, the ICC Futures Tournament has expanded to feature a girls’ division, with 12 Under-15 teams (2005 birth year) competing parallel to the boys’ event.  The girls’ division will be comprised of four Girls DA sides, four regional All-Star teams, and four UEFA clubs, including Manchester City, Atletico de Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.


The Revolution Under-14 team, guided by Head Coach TJ Love, will travel to Bradenton for opening ceremonies and initial group stage matches beginning on Dec. 11. The tournament, organized by Relevent Sports Group, includes quarterfinal (Dec. 14), semifinal (Dec. 15), and final matches (Dec. 15) from the Championship brackets that will be broadcast on ESPN. At the end of group play, all teams will compete in a quarterfinal match in either the Championship, Trophy, or Bowl Division. Group play standings will determine seeding for the knock-out stage of the competition.
