New England Revolution Academy Highlights: October 4, 2022

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Revolution Academy U-14s and U-19s continued their MLS NEXT fall seasons over the weekend, both facing FC Boston Bolts on Friday with the U-19s hosting Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen on Sunday.

The U-19s went 1-1-0 on the weekend, falling to FC Boston Bolts, 4-3, as Gianluca Armellino (2005 – Plainville, Mass.) scored New England’s first goal of the match while Marco Dos Santos (2005 – Methuen, Mass.) notched a brace with goals in the 24th and 39th minutes. They went on to defeat Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen, 3-1, on Sunday with Armellino securing his second of the weekend as Ezra Widman (2005 – New York, N.Y.) and Bryce Flowers (2005 – Sharon, Mass.) each tallying to secure their team’s fourth win in five games played this season.

The U-14s fell to FC Boston Bolts on Friday, 2-1, with Gabriel Jordao (2008 – Bellingham, Mass.) scoring his first goal of the season in the 70th minute.

· Academy graduate Jack Panayotou (2004 – Cambridge, Mass.) was named the 2021-22 UnitedHealthcare Revolution Academy Player of the Year on Friday.
· Gianluca Armellino (2005 – Plainville, Mass.) scored twice over the weekend to secure his first two goals with Revolution Academy.
· Marco Dos Santos (2005 – Methuen, Mass.) notched a brace with the U-19s on Friday night.
· Ezra Widman (2005 – New York, N.Y.) and Bryce Flowers (2005 – Sharon, Mass.) each scored to help lift the U-19s over Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen on Sunday.
· Gabriel Jordao (2008 – Bellingham, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season with the U-14s on Friday.
