JUNETEENTH

Saturday night will be the Revolution's second-ever match dedicated to Juneteenth, as the club will once again commemorate the official end of slavery in the United States by highlighting various members of the local Black community, including grassroots organizations and social justice and equity leaders throughout the match.

Latoria Boyd, a local BAMS Fest affiliated artist, will perform both the national anthem and "Lift Every Voice and Sing," often referred to as "The Black National Anthem." Be Inclusive will promote their Multicultural Books Initiative and their annual Juneteenth festival in Walpole, Mass., with a concourse activation, while Juneteenth facts and local Juneteenth celebrations will be featured on the Gillette Stadium videoboards. Prior to the game, Hero of the Match will honor the Center for Health and Justice Transformation, while halftime will feature a dance performance by OrigiNation.

Finally, Major League Soccer's leaguewide auction will feature a unique, team-signed New England Revolution jersey, with proceeds from the Revs' jersey auction benefitting the Center for Health and Justice Transformation.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS UNIFIED MATCH

The ninth season of New England Revolution Unified soccer kicks off on Saturday night, when the Revolution (Special Olympics Massachusetts) will host Chicago Fire FC (Special Olympics Illinois) at Gillette Stadium. The game will be played immediately after the Revolution's first team match (approximately 10 p.m.), and fans are encouraged to stay in their seats and cheer on these remarkable athletes as they leverage the power of soccer to promote an environment of inclusion and friendly competition.

The 16 members of the Revolution's Unified Team officially signed their contracts in late April, and they've been training in preparation for Saturday night's season opener for the past two months. Last week, members of the Unified Team came together with the entire Revolution first team roster, coaches, fans, and sponsors for the return of Bowl for a Goal presented by Arbella Insurance, which raised approximately $125,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts.

In addition to Saturday night's meeting with Chicago, the Revolution Unified Team will travel to visit the Nashville SC Unified Team on Sunday, August 20, at Geodis Park in Tennessee.

RECENT FORM VS. ORLANDO CITY SC

This has been a one-sided series since the start of 2018, as the Revs are an unbeaten 4-0-4 in eight regular-season meetings with Orlando City spread throughout the last five years, while they also claimed an additional playoff win over Orlando in 2020. The Revs have been even more dominant at home, as they're an unbeaten 5-0-2 in seven all-time meetings since Orlando joined MLS as an expansion side in 2015. Last year the Revolution claimed a 3-0 win at Exploria Stadium, while the sides played to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium.

New England (8-3-6, 30 pts.) snapped a five-game winless run this past weekend with a comfortable 3-1 victory over the league's other Florida side, Inter Miami CF, riding a Team of the Matchday performance from Carles Gil (one goal, two assists) and goals from Matt Polster and Bobby Wood. Those three points pushed the Revs into a tie for third place in the Eastern Conference standings, just two points back of second-place Nashville SC.

Orlando (7-4-5, 26 pts.) will arrive in Foxborough as one of the league's in-form sides, carrying a six-game unbeaten run (3-0-3) in league play as they've risen above the playoff line into seventh place in the East. That stretch includes a string of three straight unbeaten on the road (2-0-1), and they've been stellar defensively in the past month, conceding just three goals in their last five games and none so far in June.

Saturday night's visit from Orlando continues a three-game homestand for the Revs, who'll host Toronto FC next weekend as they aim to build momentum heading into the summer.

Overall Record vs. Orlando: 7-3-7
Home Record vs. Orlando: 5-0-2

Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Orlando 1 (June 15, 2022)
Last meeting at Exploria Stadium: Revs 3, Orlando 0 (August 6, 2022)
