RECENT FORM VS. PHILADELPHIA UNION

It's been more than five months since their home opener on March 7, but the New England Revolution are finally back in action at Gillette Stadium against the Philadelphia Union on Thursday, August 20.

Last season these two sides squared off only once while New England was under the new regime of sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena, playing to a 1-1 draw in June in Foxborough. In recent years the Union have been something of a bogey team for the Revs, who've won only once in their past 11 regular-season matches against the Union (1-8-2).

While the Revs haven't yet squared off against Philadelphia in the 2020 regular season, they most recently played against the Union in the Round of 16 of the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando just four weeks ago. Philly knocked New England out of the tournament with a 1-0 loss, however, this rematch is the Revs' chance for redemption. With this game resuming regular-season action, this battle is the one that counts more with an opportunity to climb the ladder in the East.

As the Revs take their home field for the first time in more than five months against this conference rival, this will be a match that you won't want to miss.

Overall Record vs. Philadelphia Union: 6-14-5
Home Record vs. Philadelphia Union: 3-5-3

Last Meeting: Union 1, Revs 0 (July 25, 2020 - MLS is Back Tournament)
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Union 1 (June 26, 2019)
Last Meeting at Subaru Park: Union 6, Revs 1 (May 4, 2019)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. Philadelphia Union | August 20, 2020 -

On Thursday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look, as Major League Soccer and the Revs continue their milestone 25th season. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.

"The Original" jerseys the players will wear on Thursday night will have an additional special feature. Player jerseys will feature C.H.A.N.G.E patches, to symbolize the club's commitment to social justice and education on how to create change with open dialogues about race and racism. The jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit NAACP Boston.
